Employee Recognition

At Calgary Co-op, we believe we have the top employees in the industry. When our employees perform beyond expectations, accomplish difficult objectives and surpass goals, we recognize those achievements.

Our Employee Recognition Program provides a formal way for us to recognize and reward employees for exceptional performance as it exemplifies our corporate values. Some examples of our rewards, but not limited to are:
  • Gifts ranging from $25.00 to $500.00 in value, depending on the level of recognition
  • Perfect attendance rewards
  • 'Shooting Star' awards for demonstrating excellent performance and customer service
  • 'Above', 'Beyond' and 'Exceptional' awards for actions that impact more than the employee's own department, eg: sales generation, introducing a major initiative, volunteerism and safety efforts.
We also show our appreciation to our long service employees. Calgary Co-op is proud of the fact that it has an exceptional number of long serving and dedicated employees. We celebrate employee career milestones at awards breakfasts and banquets, through employee and public newsletters, and media announcements starting at five years of service and every five years thereafter with retirement celebrations when eligible.

In 2003 alone, Calgary Co-op recognized 464 employees with long service awards.
